Problem using XP SendTo Folder

Jim

The application shortcuts I install in my SendTo folder
for some reason aren't appearing on the SendTo menu when I
right click files and folders. I'm using XP pro, does
anyone know of a special setting required to make them
visible? I know with XP each user has their own SendTo
folder. To cover all bases, I've copied the shortcuts I
needed into the SendTo folder for each user account on my
computer. I've never had this problem before. In prior
versions of Windows, every file listed in the SendTo
folder was automatically displayed on the SendTo menu
(even non-executable files, such as txt files.) Does
anybody know what's up with XP?
Thanks, Jim

It only shows what it knows works. Plus removable drives appear on the menu
but not in the folder. Sendto uses Drag n Drop. Windows Installer Shortcuts
(eg Office) don't support Drag n Drop. Create a normal shortcut for these
files to the exe file.

Yeah, that worked. I thought all shortcuts supported Drag-
N-Drop -- is this something new to XP? Can't find any
documentation on this difference. I've been using
IShellLink, but don't see any way to distinguish Drag-n-
Drop shortcuts, from Non-Drag-N-Drop shortcuts. (I though
Windows Explorer used IShellLink.) As you say VSI 1.1
links also have the same short coming, at least for XP.
Thanks, Jim
