Problem using Paragon Disk Manager with Win XP Home

M

A while ago, I obtained a copy of Paragon's Hard Drive Manager V6.01.847
which came as a full (obviously not the latest) program on a PC cover
magazine DVD.

I was going to use it to resize a couple of my partitions on a single disc
to allocate more space to one of the partitions.

The OS is on the C drive; Data on the E drive; Apps and Games on the F
drive. (D is the DVD/RW)
I wanted to shrink E and use the extra space for F (which is now nearly
full).

However, I have set up 'My Documents' to go onto the E drive. As a result,
when I try to resize E, I get the complaint that E volume is in use. Logging
out of my account and going back into Administrator via Safe Mode (I am
using XP Home), I thought would cure this problem as the Admin is still on
the C drive. I still get the error, however.

Has anyone else managed to get round this problem?

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Martin

resizing may seem a flawless
operation, however, it is a very
big deal, meaning that if the
operation is successful then great,
if the operation fails, then you
lost that partition and will have
to recreate it.

move your documents folder
elsewhere temporarily "AND"
make a copy of the important stuff
to dvd or something before resizing.

i suppose your pretty lucky to
get a freeware like that. normally
you have to spend some bucks
to get a reliable one...

i use acronis disk manager so
i don't need another program.

however, for giggles i searched
and found the link offering a download
of the paragon freeware:

http://www.computeractive.co.uk/hdmanager8/index

seemed to install o.k. and the
registration to obtain a e-keycode
via email was instaneous.
