Problem Using OWA on IE8 Running on Vista Home Premium

I have IE8 installed on my Lenovo SL400 laptop running Vista Home Premium.

I want to use OWA (to access my office emails).

At first I was unable to compose/reply/forward any emails because there
would be a red 'X' appearing in the space where message is to be entered. I
searched online for a solution to that problem and downloaded S/MIME. The
problem was solved as now I can input text for new/reply/forward emails.

But now I am unable to send any emails because as soon as I press send IE
closes and gives me the following error:

Then I get a message saying that "Data Execution Prevention" has closed
Internet Explorer.

Note that OWA is part of Exchange and not Outlook. For support for OWA,
