Problem using Outlook Connector solved

I thought it might be helpful to go on the record about solving a problem I
was having using the Outlook Connector with my Hotmail Plus account. It
turns out that there are two versions of the Outlook Connector available
from microsoft.com. One older one is version 2.0.4007.0 and does not work
with my Hotmail account. The newer version is 12.0.4518.1058 (digitally
signed on August 5, 2007 and released on August 14, 2007) and Hotmail Plus
DOES work with it. You can find the file here:

Using this version of the connector I can sync email and contacts, but not
Calendar events which apparently requires an additional subscription ( ? )

Correct. You need Hotmail Premium for that.

Thanks for the confirmation. Unfortunately, I was a little hasty in saying
the problem with OC was solved. Although OC will sync all my hotmail
folders and receive new mail Outlook will not send email. Emails I create
to send just sit in the Outbox indefinitely.

I too am on Windows Live Mail Plus and I have the same problem that the
Outlook Connector does not sync the Calendar - where does Microsoft actually
say that a Premium account is needed. All I can find are references to
"subscription based" accounts, of which Live Mail Plus is one and it ought to
work.

Where do you get Windows Live Mail Plus? How does it differ from
Windows Live Mail?
