Actual Error Message:
"Install Windows
Windows installation encountered and unexpected error. Verify that the
installation sources are accessible, and restart the installation.
Error code: 0xC0000005"
Copying Windows files [complete]
Gathering files (19%)

I have a new DVD drive and a new DVD from Circuit city.
I checked it, it is clean, so I followed some other instructions on
Microsoft's web site about flat install, copied all files to the slave HD and
recieved the same error. So I copied it to the actual upgrade HD and tried
an upgrade, no dice. I tried upgrades and clean installs in various methods,
and recieve the same error every time. I have reinstalled XP SP2 many times.
PC Specs are:
1.66GHZ AMD Athlon XP 2000+
WD80 GB HD Primary
WD40 GB HD Slave
1.25GB of RAM

I have no solution at the moment, help!

Hi, I have a problem with Home Basic. My wifes' PC had Windows xp Home on it
and is about a year old. I had downloaded Vista RC1 when it came out and she
had played with and loved it. So when Vista came out this year I bought the
Home Premium and she decided to upgrade to Home Basic. Well I installed Vista
on her pc with the upgrade and activated with no problem. Just a few minutes
ago she called me in the office and there was a "must activate in 20 days".
So that puzzled me, below is the Diagnostic Report you need and I noticed the
Product Key is different from the one I put in and that is on the box. Was
going to call the activation number but thought I would ask a pro before
doing that to see if I did something wrong. She is a graphic designer and I
don't really want to reinstall everything she has on there, once is enough
,lol.. Thanks for your help
