Problem trying to paste text into BCM Account form

I am trying to paste text into a BCM Account form: specifically into the
"comments" section under the "details" tab of a standard BCM Account. BCM
allows the text to be pasted but when I try to save and close, I get an error
message: "Business Contact Manager does not support this operation."

If I try a straight "close" I get "do you want to save changes?" If I say
yes, I get the same message "BCM does not support...etc." The text I am
trying to paste comes from a contact in Outlook. It is just standard text.

As a workaround, I have tried to paste the same text into a "Business Note"
within BCM. But the same thing happens.

Is this a bug in BCM or is there another way to do this?

You probably got it right .The only way to add an attachment To BCM is
through the Business Contact History Section .This is a design limitation
coz BCM stores it data on an MSDE also the Bcms form were created from the
native Outlook forms.Hope this helps

Thanks for the quick reply. What, exactly, do I have right? That I can't
paste text into a BCM or BCM-related (Business note, phone log or
opportunity) form? I'm a little confused by your terminology, which is
probably my fault: I'm not trying to add an attachment, I'm trying to paste
text.

I've been experimenting with this: If I have a BCM Account open and I go to
the "Actions" pull-down menu I can select a new message, letter, appointment,
task, opportunity, phone log or business note. The last three, I think, being
exclusive to BCM. I have tried pasting in all of these last three and get the
same error.

But if I try pasing into a new message, letter, appointment or task, it
works. I can paste text into these.

And what is the relevance of MSDE? Is that some kind of different format
that's not compatible with all the formatting of Outlook?

And I did figure out an annoying workaround: if I cut and paste this text I
am trying to get into BCM, cutting it from the Outlook contact, then pasting
it into Word, then cutting it out of Word and pasting it into BCM, it works.

Which leads me to believe that when I paste the Outlook text into Word, it
gets automatically reformatted into some format that is compatible with BCM.
Does that make sense? And does that has some tie-in to MSDE?
