problem recognizing external Hardrive

Hi,
I have a Lacie 300gb external hardrive.
It was working fine, but then I moved (from one apartment to another),
and in the new apartment, when I tried to connect the hardrive, it
didn't appear in "My Computer". I thought maybe it was a letter
allocation problem, which I know happens sometimes, so I allocated a
letter to it, without formatting it. Now it recognizes it, but there's
not way for me to reach the data on it. When I try to explore it I get
a message that it hasn't been formatted. I don't want to format it
since I have a lot fo data on it.
Any ideas?

Decent recovery software should fix it. I like Easy Recovery Pro.
