Problem publishing website changes

I made a number of changes live to a site on the Internet and am now having
trouble publishing the site back to my own computer. I've done this for the
past two years with no problems until now.

I keep getting this error message: "You have specified identical
destination filenames for some of the files you are trying to copy. Make sure
all destination files have unique names and try again."

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the FrontPage extensions on the
server, with no luck - actually disastrous luck. It blitzed my headers,
footers and nav bar. I've even tried publishing it back to a new website name
and I get the same error message.

Anyone have any ideas? The tech guys at the ISP haven't been of much help,
even after quite a number of emails.

You are publishing from a Unix/Linux server back to your Windows computer, and you have two or more
file with the same name, but different cases, which under Unix/Linux they are treated as separate
files, but under Windows they are considered one and the same.

Example:

Index.htm
index.htm

The above is consider two separate files under Unix/Linux, but under Windows, the same file. You
need to open the live site in FP and rename/delete these duplicate files.

Out of curiosity -- what you are doing seems backwards to me. Why are
you not making the changes on your local machine first and then
publishing them to the web?
