Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
New computer with XP Pro SP2 + patches. I have been installing programs
onto this new PC and have run into a problem running 'older' programs.
Whenever I try to run a DOS or early Win program I now get the following
error message .... "'Path+filename.exe' is not a valid Win 32 application".
Curiously, these programs were working a week ago.
I have NOT made any deliberate registry changes. The only registry tweak I
have installed is the MS powertoys "Open Command prompt here" tweak.
Uninstalling this from the add/remove cp applet does not fix the problem.
Any clues as to why this is now happening ? And any steps I might take to
remedy the problem. I don't really want to roll back to a week ago if I
can avoid it, I have put in too much work installing and setting up apps
over the last week.
I am a newbie to XP, but not a computer novice.
