Problem on SytleRef

R

Rita

Hi guy,

I have created a document, with many chapters, each chapter title has
been applied a custom style called the "Chapter Style"

In the header, I choose (insert -> field -> StyleRef -> "Chapter Style" )

that was fine, but one problem is :

"at the last page of a chapter, the header is showing the next chapter !"

e.g.

Chapter 1 <--- This is the header
------------
Page 1
Chapter 1.

Chapter 2 <--- This should be Chapter 1 !!!
-------------
Page 2
end of Chapter 1

CHapter 2
-------------
Page 3
start of Chapter 2

CHapter 2
-------------
Page 4
still Chapter 2

CHapter 2
-------------
Page 5
still Chapter 2

CHapter 3 <--- This should be Chapter 2 !!!
-------------
Page 6
end of Chapter 2

hope you can understand...

any reason for that funny error ?

many thanks....

Possibly you have inserted a manual page break before the Chapter Style
paragraph and the StyleRef is picking that up? If that's the case, format
the heading as "Page break before" instead.

Do you still have the manual page break? The manual page break will be the
beginning of the paragraph that includes your heading. In the styleref field
(which can't really show a manual page break) you will get everything from
the line that contains the manual page break, usually nothing.

Format | Paragraph | Line and Page Breaks tab: check the box for "Page break
before." Then delete the manual page break you inserted.
