hmmm, interesting. I tried the disk cleanup but it took so long to =-
load-
the initial part where you select which files to clean, after two =-
hours-
I cancelled it.

Hi,

Open My Computer - Right click on the C:\ drive and select =--
Properties.--
Click on Disk Cleanup. Put a check next to "Temporary Internet =--
Files"--
and "Temporary files" then click OK. Reboot and retry the install.

The initial part where it says disc cleanup is calculating how muhc
pace you will be able to free. It stops 3 bars in. Below it says
"Scanning: Compress old files"

It happens. Good news is it will fix itself in a year or so. There's no known cause and it stalls at random parts of the drive.

You can remove this feature (which is not a good idea to use it anyway unless you have a reason to compress).

Type Regedit in Start Run and go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches\Compress old files
and delete the key. To restore type in Start Run
regsvr32 dataclen (but wait 6 months and then try every 6 months till it works)
