Problem installing Norton IS 2007 - Help please!

I did have Norton IS 2006 but the price of purchasing Norton IS 2007
OEM was cheaper so I chose to not renew online. I was stupid and lazy
and did not uninstall 2006 first, I ran the cd and skipped the bit
that looks at your system for some unknown reason I still thought it
would uninstall the old software. The software loaded, looked a bit
diffent, but said my subscription has just expired. I uninstalled
Norton as it was picking up the old version still. There appeared to
be no Norton on my system and I installed N IS 2007 again. It still
tells me my subscription has expired. Can anyone advise how I did
myself out of this hole?

Thanks
Colin

In addition to PA Bear's post, in my opinion you're much better off w/o NIS.
There are other, better, less resource intensive, and less problematic
programs to replace it.
