Problem in setting up small home network

I am getting the following message when i try to view the computers in workgroup in my network places

Mshome is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resourse. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions

The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available.

Please provide me a solutio

Do you have the XP's firewall enabled? If so disable it. It is only intended for direct connections to the Internet and must be disabled on local area networks. If you have any other personal firewalls installed, in most cases, uninstall them while troubleshooting. If a third party firewall is present, it is most likely you do not have it configured properly for the network

I am also facing the same problem. After disabling the
firewall, i still cant view the computer workgroup.
Furthermore my brother's computer can ping to my computer
but i cant ping to my brother's computer.
Any help is appreciated.
