Problem in installing windows xp

first of i would like to thank all those who participate in that newsgroup,
now i'll descripe the problems faced me in reinstalling winXp at ma home pc:

1- I'm using winxp SP2, norton antivirus 2005, and have a DSL, and while
running playing a game called Zuma an error happend and i had to restart ma
PC,after restarting it and b4 loading the windows an error message came out
saying "the file pci.sys is missing or corrupted please insert win xp
installation cd and press repaiti".

2- As a result i inserted the bootable winxp into ma cd rom to repait the
windows or install a fresh copy of it, but while loading the installation
files (at the very beginning) another error message saying "error 4 unable to
load file setupdpp" (am not sure about the file name spelling).

3-i formated the drive C:\ by connecting the hard disk to another PC and the
same error message while loading the winxp installation CD setup files camed
out.

4- i tried to install win 98 and win me, but after making the scan disk and
before starting copying the win. files an error message came out saying
"invalid file command.com"

5-now i've no operationg systme on ma pc, so kindly someone help me
regarding that subject i'm waiting for your answers on ma e-mails

Since you have attempted to install various operating systems and are
still getting errors, you have a hardware problem. Usually failures
during operating system installs are caused by bad hardware - RAM, hard
drive, optical drive, etc.

Testing hardware failures often involves swapping out suspected parts
with known-good parts. If you can't do the testing yourself and/or are
uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigStoreUSA). Have
all your data backed up before you take the machine into a shop.
