problem in browsing internet

hi,

i m using windows vista home basic edition....

i just got an internet dsl connection @ my home and it works well with the
LAN cable plugged in my laptop. But when i switch to wireless connection, i
am not able to browse internet or use yahoo messenger etc. Surprisingly, it
allows me to access my skype account and i can make phone calls from my skype
account and talk. i tried to find out whats wrong but in vain.

can somebody help me out ? does this have to do anything with vista ?

First thing to check is if the router/modem is Vista compatible. If it's
not, then try these 3 things to see if they help (if not, switch them back):
1) Disable IPv6 in the wireless adapter
2) Disable the IP Helper service in services.msc
3) Disable the DHCP Broadcast flag for the wireless adapter using this
