Problem getting Internet Explorer to go to the url

Hi.. I type the url of a site in the IE address bar, but as soon as I
hit enter, Mozilla comes up and goes to the site. IE then goes to the
home page.I was using IE6 but then upgraded to 7 thinking it would fix
the problem. appreciate any help.. thanks Rainy

I'm using IE 7, Mozilla 3.5
Windows xp home

thanks for the help..Firefox was already 3.5, I have always had
firefox set as my default browser with no problems..so i installed IE8
and it is working great.without setting IE as default browser. if it
wasn't.. I would have set IE to default. Thank you so much for such a
quick and expert response.. hugs rainy
