problem from install windows vista

I try to install windows vista 64 but after I booted from cd the system said
cpu is not compatible 64 ( I am using windows xp 2002) what should I do?

I would start by telling anyone from whom you think you might get help what
type of CPU it is the program said wasn't compatible.

Without systems specs, no one can tell you anything more than guesses that
will have you chasing your tail.

My guess is that your CPU is 32 bit only and does not have the 64 bit
instruction set.

Is your processor a 64-bit processor? If not, you cannot install a 64-bit
version of Vista.

Is your current operating system a 64-bit operating system? If not, you
cannot upgrade using the 64-bit version of Vista.

It sounds like your processor isn't a 64 bit enabled processor. What is the
type of processor you are using in your PC?
