Problem Exporting Outlook Email to Outlook Express

R

Rob

My copy of Outlook doesn't seem to be able to export my old emails to Outlook
Express format so that I can import them into Windows Mail. Any help you guys
can provide is much appreciated.

Are both Outlook and Outlook Express installed and functional on the machine
doing the transfer (assuming you're doing an intermediate transfer from
Outlook to OE, then taking the OE .DBX files to the Vista machine and
attempting an import with WM)? If you're attempting to transfer from
Outlook 2003 (installed on the Vista machine) to Windows Mail (also
installed on the same machine), use Windows Mail and import from Outlook,
rather than trying to export from Outlook. In either case, Outlook must be
present and functional on the machine doing the transfer.

You don't export from Outlook to Outlook Express...
you open Outlook Express and import from Outlook.
