Problem: Duplicate copies of emails being sent? Known issue?

Hi All,

The two messages below highlight the issue I'm suffering
from and a service providers (maxemail.com) explanation of
what is causing my problem (problem=an Outlook issue it
appears). Is anyone familiar with this multiple send issue?

Can someone offer some insight into the problem, or offer some solution?

Thanks

Hi John,

Thanks for contacting MaxEmail. If you are using
Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express, you may notice that
faxes sent out via e-mail are occasionally sent more than
one time. This is caused by a problem with the e-mail
software, not with the MaxEmail Send service. The
Microsoft e-mail software will at times randomly generate
2-3 copies of an outgoing e-mail and send out all copies
of the message, even though the message only appears in
your e-mail "Sent" box one time. We believe that this
occurs when the Microsoft e-mail software is unable to
determine what format to send the message in (plain text,
rich text, or both), so copies are sent out in multiple
formats. However, we have not been able to confirm this
with Microsoft.

At this time, there is no way for MaxEmail to screen for
and filter out duplicate messages of this nature. Each
duplicate message generated by the e-mail software is
assigned a unique message ID number, so the MaxEmail
system is unable to differentiate duplicate e-mails from
legitimate faxes. If you have experienced this problem,
we recommend that you either use the MaxEmail web
interface to send faxes, or use a different e-mail
software package to send faxes via e-mail.

I will issue a credit to your usage account for the
duplicate faxes.

Sincerely,
Kris

Hi for some reason it appears that when I send a fax job...it is being
processed twice. Therefore, I am concerned about being
double charged.
