problem displaying foreign fonts

I have an Access 2002 database containing Eng and Chinese fonts. They
display correctly in the database . When I export to a txt file the chinese
fonts do not display as real characters. Can someone explain why this is?
I'm using Windows XP professional. Actually, the real purpose of my task is
to read the characters successfully in a third party application and my way
of troubleshooting the problem is to firstly export it into a text file. I
am presuming that the inability to read the characters correctly in an
exported text file will also give me a clue why the third-party application
is also unsuccessful

No takers for this problem 'eh ? I can give a bit more info which may give
some learned person an idea. If I make the database in Access 97 then it can
be viewed in the 3rd party applet AND can be exported into a text file with
the non-English font showing up fine. Also when viewed in Access 97 the
fonts show up fine. So the problem is clearly in the difference between the
2 versions of Access.
