Problem copying images from one slide to another

I am using PPT 2007. I have been asked to add some extra slides to a
presentation. It has a mixture of grphical slides and text only slides. The
text only slides can be copied. The slides with graphics either as background
or a picture cannot be copied. When trying to copy the 'Cut', 'Copy' &
'Paste' functions are greyed out. There is no password required to open or
play the presentation. The file was originally as a 97-03 format. I now have
it as a .pptx also.

You can duplicate the slide instead of copying/pasting: select the slide in
the pane slide on the left and do a Ctrl+D

Thanks that worked for whole slide duplication. Is there a way to only
duplicate part, ie background or foreground image? Another issue is when I
try to print the show out none of the graphics print out. Any help
apprecieted.
