Problem changing home page on Explorer

B

Bill

When I go into "tools/Internet Options" the ability to
change the home page is present but not available to use.
Have tried everything I know to do but nothing seems to
work.

Do I have to delete Internet Explorer and start again? If
so, is there a way to save my "favorites" before i do that?

Thanks

Bill

When you say you tried everything, did that include downloading, installing
and running AdAware(http://lavasoft.element5.com/support/download/) and/or
Spybot Search and
Destroy(http://security.kolla.de/index.php?lang=en&page=download)? If not,
do so. If you don't want to download both, I would suggest at least Spybot
S&D, as it has an option to "lock" your homepage setting on the page you
want. Both programs are free, although there is a paid version of AdAware
available, and Mr. Kolla (the creator of SpybotS&D) does accept voluntary
donations.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Both programs have worked for me, but as they say, "your mileage may vary".
