PROBLEM BOOTING XP!!!!!!!!!PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I have XP home. I used Parion Majic to creat a new
partion and then install an operating sytem to it. I had
errors install the os so i gave up and deleted the
partion with the other os files on it. When I booted up
the os choose screan appeared with xp or other os setup
because the other os setup boot files were still on my
hard drive. I booted xp ok and then went to sytem>
advanced> startup and recovery. The other os setup as in
the list as default so i changed it to xp. On my hard
drive there was folders for the other os setup boot
stuff. It was like $windows or something wierd like that,
they weren't there before so i could delete them and i
did. the next time i tryied to boot, i got the choose os
screan and by defaul went to xp and when it tryied to
load it just restarted. It did this continuously. I
pressed F8 and tryied every option but it still just kept
restarting. I then created a new partion and intalled
windows me and then installed partion majic. I used the
file browser to look at the files on the xp partion and
opened the boot file. I then deleted the line that
contained the other os setup boot stuff. When I restarted
and booted to the xp partion and there was no os choose
screan but it tryied to boot and just restarted again. I
give up now and now I need someone else's help. Please
help me get xp back.

Pardon my bad grammer and spelling (i'm in a hury),
please help me, thanks.

<snip>

Make a backup copy off boot.ini first.

From the recovery console, run "bootcfg /list" to
show the current entries. Then, if you feel bold and
dangerous, try "bootcfg /rebuild". In my case, I had
no choice, the boot.ini was gone as a result of a
software install gone haywire.

More exact details on mesages you are getting and
specific details would help as well.
