Problem adding audio to slide show

I don't consider myself to be anywhere near proficient when it comes to
media/computer stuff, but I'm not an idiot about it either. However, right
now I'm ready to THROW my laptop!! I've been reading thru threads,
troubleshooting stuff on Microsoft, etc. and I just can't figure out what I
am doing wrong.

SIMPLY, I am trying to make a photo slide show (originally with InerVideo
DVD then with WMM), but read about Photo Story 3 in some threads. Downloaded
it. Wroking great, except I can't for the life of me add an audio track.
I'm not trying to do anything fancy like start in the middle, fade in or out,
etc. Just want to add a track from iTunes. I even tried using a track from
a CD that I burned (which is .mp3 and specifically says "not protected").
Where does windows media encoder come in? (I downloaded it, but not sure
what the "Device Options" are).

HELP. I thought this would be easy! I just want to show the "vdeo" slide
show and be able to burn to DVD for family. Is there an easier way? Am I
making this more difficult?!?

Thanks for ANY help at all...
