Probably a silly question.

Ok so I finally got my computer fixed. But it has been set back to the
factory settings, or something. And now everything on it is huge. Like the
windows at the bottom, the programs in the menu, etc. And when I talk on a
messenger program, I can't even see my friends lists because everything is so
big.

Can someone help, and tell me how I can make everything smaller again.

Right click on the desktop/Properties/Settings. Change the sliding bar
under Screen Resolution. Also, right click on My
Computer/Properties/Hardware tab/Device Manager. See any yellow question
marks there? If so, what are they?

Thanks!

And there is one yellow question mark, it's for some Video Controller thing
that my computer tried to set up.

If your computer has an LCD panel display, determine what its real
resolution is (1680 X 1050 or some such pair of numbers) and set the screen
resolution to that -- it is optimum and will give the best visual
appearance. Also set the Color Quality to "Highest" unless you have some
strong overriding reason not to.

Go to the computer manufacturer website and download and run the video
driver appropriate to your model..

Do you have a CD for your video card? If not, you need to go to the
video card's web site and download and install the drivers. Do you know
the make and model of your video card?

you might have to visit
your computers homesite
and download any recent
updates and patches that
have occurred since the
provision of the original
factory restoration files.

in the case of the video,
there may be a new and
improved driver.

That means that the video driver is not installed and the system is running
as basic VGA.

You need to identify the video adapter hardware, make and model, and get and
install the driver from the manufacturer.

Simply right-click on the desktop, select Properties, and set the
display's resolution to something that your monitor supports and is
comfortable for you to read.
