Private or Public Beta

As always, I'm already confused just like everyone else
here. Sorry for whoever it was I stole the first sentence from.

I'm sure someone already said this, but is this a public
beta or a private beta? I'm bored to tears now without
anything to test, XP SP2 being done and such. Thanks for
your help in un-confusing me.

It appears not only to be quite a public beta, but announcements appears
to be read-write, so the utility of these groups could quickly slide
into nothingness. I wonder if they have spam filters in place?

I bet that this endeavor is not being conducted by Microsoft Windows
beta people, but some new team that hasn't done this before. Just a
guess, but I'm not making any assumptions about what is going to happen.

I've seen that one before--with an SP2 public beta--hmm--was that also
hosted on the private server? maybe so..... and it wasn't fixed. My
recollection was that Ann. was read-write to the web interface, but
read-only for NNTP. In this case it is definitely r/w for NNTP, so either
I'm remembering wrong, or this one is set up more loosely than that one was.
You had to set flags on MS addresses and watch for those to get useful
information out of announcements, in general.

They are public. I suggest not posting your BetaID's in here for
security reasons. If there is going to be a private beta also, I
would like to join.

I would love too, but I am not in the program right now. I removed the URL's
from my sig so they do not confuse people. (Note it did not have the title.)
I want to promote the sites, but I do not want to mis-lead either.
