Printing to File - BULK

Lets say there is an access database that generates a thousand invoices
a day, and you want those to be printed to individual files (such as
PDF or the upcoming Metro) instead of to paper. Is there a good way to
do that to a specific nomenclature such as by invoice number/etc.
automatically? I want as little or no user input as possible with the
naming so that they don't mess it up. Automation and speed are key.

Best asked in an MS Access newsgroup.

I'm looking for a more general solution that will work for any windows
app. The access thing is just one example. Basically, I want to know
if anyone knows of a print to file driver that can handle stuff like
this. I do not know if we will continue to use access or if it will be
replaced by other utilities, but I would like to have the bulk
print-to-file capability remain for all our windows xp programs.

I still don't think you're in the right place. All applications, whether
it's MS Access, Excel or Foxpro, require you to specify the destination
file name from ***inside*** that application, hence your naming
algorithm would be application-specific.

You could, of course, print to one and the same file name each
time, then invoke a batch file to give it a unique name. This is quite
simple to do but rather clumsy.
