Printing problems with Canon i560

I'm having problems printing with my canon i560 using windows vista. It as
working just fine but suddenly it refuses to print. I get a msg saying that
the ink cartridge is "almost full" and to hit the resume button for every
document. It's a pia to have to get up and to hit the resume button. The
printer has plenty of ink and paper, is not a new printer to the computer.
All the obvious things have been checked as far as printer function.

I went to canon's website and downloaded the "patch" for vista, but that was
no help. When I contacted canon and asked for help, I was told that vista
already had all the drivers and they couldn't help me.

Any thoughts?

I don't think it's the cartridge that's coming up 'almost full' but the
waste sponge. Once it's full, it needs replacing.... however you may find
it more economical to trade in the printer with Canon and get a new one.
