Printing PPS Files

Power Point 2002: I can not print PPS files that are
received via e-mail or that I create. How can this be
done? Thanks!

What happens when you try to print? Are you opening PowerPoint and then
opening the presentation and going to File > Print? Any messages?

When the PowerPoint file opens from the e-mail it
automatically goes into the PPS mode so there is no
toolbar to select File > Print. Right-mouse clicking does
not bring up a Print option either.

But, I think I found the solution at least working in
2002. Working in the ppt I changed the Set Up Show option
(under SlideShow) from 'Presented by a speaker'
to 'Browsed by an individual', saved the file as a pps, e-
mailed it to myself to test. It now opens as a pps but
when right-mouse clicking the print option is available.
Who knew! Thanks, Jani

[CRITICAL UPDATE - If you are using Office 2003, you should install this
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello Jani,

A *.PPS file is identical to a *.PPT file (the only difference is the file
extension). If there are no restrictions on the presentation (permissions,
paswords) which would prevent you from printing the presentation when
opened in PowerPoint you can simply open the presentation using the File ->
Open command in PowerPoint instead of opening it from your e-mail cliient.

1) Open email message contain attachment.
2) Use whatever command your e-mail client provides for saving attachments
as files (save to location easy for you to find from the Open dialog in
PowerPoint).
3) In PowerPoint, open the presentation using the "File -> Open" command.

When opened this way, the presentation will come up in edit mode (not in
slide show mode) regardless of whether the file extension is *.pps.
