Printing on non-standard sized paper

Windows 98 allowed me to specify the page size for my Dot-matrix printer. I
cannot find the same ability in Windows XP. I have looked for every setup
option and preference and advanced setting that I can find. Other than
several pre-set options, there seems to be nothing else. Surely XP will allow
me to setup a custom-sized page! (e.g. 5.5 X 3.5 inches on a continuous roll)
Please help!

Thanks

That is an option of the specific printer driver. Check the manual that came
with your printer. My options has a drop down menu of standard paper sizes
with a last option of user defined.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. This is not a new printer. It is the same printer
that I used quite successfully with Windows 98. However, I will try to see if
there are updated drivers for this printer for WinXP. Thanks for the answer.

It's possible that this feature is not included if the printer is
discontinued and the only drivers available are the standard in-box drivers
available as part of XP.

Which make and model of printer is it?

My version of XP & printer driver offers a "user defined page size" which I
can apparently set to 5x7 for photo printing. However, it seems to always
revert back to 8.5x11 when printing occurs. In other words, I cannot latch
that paper size and have it available when I go to print.
Has anyone been able to define a 5x7 page size?
