Printing fails everytime

I have a new Dell PC runninig XP Professional. I have connected up via USB to a HP
officejet V45. Everytime I try to print, I get an error message that "this document failed to print", I get one or two pages of a Word document or half a page of a web page printed, and the printer then stops printing and the failed mesage comes up.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the printer twice. I have played with the spooling settings and tried to print directly and appear to get the same problem.

Any ideas?

You're Welcome,
If you have a newsgroups account, then you can use Outlook Express, and set
it up there; it far better to use a newsreader than the web based one that
you are using.

If you don't have an account, you can set up a free one through Google
groups, and post on the web there, though messages take a bit longer to
propagate.

Have you gone to HP's website, to see if your model ahs an updated driver
for your printer that is specifically for XP?

If all else fails, try posting here using the web based reader you posted
through here;

Hi can anyone help please with similar.

Down loaded service pack 2 for XP ( full version) and now I cant print.
tried notepad and like all else it just sits there in the print queue.
McCaffe is up to date and no virus reports.
Changed printer just in case
added printer as local on LPT1
tried echo to printer in cmd run no reply.
Sometimes when fiddling with all this I get a message from the firewall
"spooling is trying to access the internet" Allowing doesnt help.
going to try reloading the driver but there are no problem reports in device
manager.
Not sure what to do now except reload the whole operating system but I'd
rather move house than that.
Any ideas ?
