Strange thing happened. My HP 1020 printer stopped working after the recent
Windows update. I have Vista Home Premium.

Go to the HP website. They have Vista compatible drivres there for all their
products.

If you identify which update, uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs after
checking [x] Show Updates and see if the printer works again.

If you don't know which it might be uninstall all of them on that date
and see if the printer works.

It's not unknown for updates to break something.

Have you checked for error messages in Event Viewer or on the screen?

Can you give a better description than "stopped working" ?

There are no Vista drivers for HP LaserJet 1020 printer on hp.com website.
They hope to have them in July.

My HP 950c also stopped working. My stopped I mean it doesn't even have
anything in the print queue. If I try to go to properties, it flashes for
about 1/2 second then dissapears. I tried reinstalling the printer software,
rebooting, etc. The HP website says Vista already has all the drivers - lots
of help. Any suggestions?

The downside of the in-the-box drivers:

-------------------------------------------

Using the advanced printer functions

You might find that some of the advanced features are no longer
available when using this basic driver. You can upgrade to an HP
product that is fully compatible with Windows Vista if the advanced
features are necessary.

--------------------------------------------

Seriously it may be time to go for one of the newer HP printers using
02 inks if photo quality is important to you. I have a PS 8250 and love
it.

I've no real suggestions for trouble shooting -- is it USB connected or
parallel port?
