"printer spool not working"

i keep getting this message when i try and print anything. i just bought a
new printer an epson dx 4200. it primarily did not install the drivers at
first from the cd
after which this message keeps coming.my prev printer was a lexmark which
also had the same problem. i think i unnecessarily bought a new printer.
please help someone!

ok try this, i had the same problem go to RUN: type in services.msc and find
the printer spooler service and turn it on, if that doesnt work try the RCP
and restart that, and if all fails go to your command promp, you can get to
this by start programs, accessories command promt, type in ths sc config
spooler depends= RPCSS no space after the = but there is one after. good luck
this is all i know.

HI THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
the only problem is when i try to start the printer spooler service it says
"the dependancy service or group failed to start. and the RCP itself wont
restart from services.msc
also from the command prompt it says "spooler"is not recognised as a
external or internal command.
when i type in every thing at one go ...it does nothing
Im doomed to using a computer without a printer for ever 111(sorry about the
melodramatics)

thanks for you help
i managed to sucessfully restart the print spooler butwhen i try to install
the lexmark drivers i get "the specified print monitor is unknown"????
what do i do?

Is this a new set of drivers from the Lexmark website?

no i have the driver cd of the printer
any how i got fed up and chucked the lexmark away
i am now using an epson
but thanks anyway
