printer prints extra page

R

Richard

Hi

Recently some of the reports print with an extra empty first page with an x
at the top left hand corner. It happens on and off. When I preview the
report, there is no extra page.

I am not even sure if its the problem with access, but it seems to happen
only with access. Anyone out there has experience with such issues. Help is
appreciated.

Many thanks in advance
Richard

That is because the report's width is wider than the paper size (minus left
and right margins) used by that printer. Try to reduce the left/right margin
a bit, or reduce the report's width a bit.

Richard,
This is typical of a printer driver problem. Search the web for the latest printer
driver for your printer, and install it. You don't say what version of Access you're
using, or your operating system, but A2003 and/or XP require the very latest printer
drivers.

Norman,
I think, if the report was too wide one would expect the 2nd/4th/6th.. etc page to be
blank (or the just tail end characters from left over from page 1).
The extraneous "x" printing on the first page, followed by a form feed, is usually
indicative of a printer driver problem. There's something in the printer command string
that the printer can't interpret.

Yes, you are probably right.
