Printer not printing

P

Paul

Hello everyone,

Here's my dilemma. I was previously running
Windows 95 on my system. I have recently switched to
Windows 2000 Professional. Prior to installing 2000,
everything was operating smoothly, now that 2000 is in my
system I am not able to run my printer. The error message
I am recieving is "printer operation cannot continue due
to lack of resources. The print subsystem is unavailable."
I have spoken to Epson support directly, and they say it's
not an Epson issue. The issue is a Microsoft problem. So,I
called Microsoft Support to see if I could get some
answers from them and they told me that sure they would
help me out, but, because my system is over warranty I would
first have to pay a hefty ransom of $245.00 US to get any
kind of support. My answer. Thanks but, no thanks, for that
kind of dineros I would go purchase a new printer.I tried
to find a driver download for my printer(Epson Stylus
Color 400). but, to no avail, apparently the latest or
newest driver download is for Windows 98. So before I give
up and just go purchase a new printer I thought I would
give it one last try. If anyone has any ideas or if anyone
knows of a compatible driver for this particular printer I
would like to hear from you. Again, I am running Windows
2000 Professional and my printer is an Epson Stylus Color
400. If you could help me out it would be greatly
appreciated. Either post your response on the newsgroup
board or E-mail me at "(e-mail address removed)"
Thanking you in advance for your help Paul

Thanks for the feedback Cari,I tried that website, but,
still nothing.

You didn't say whether or not you actually looked at the status of the
print spooler. So please check for:
Start, Settings, Control Panel
Administrative Tools, Services
Print Spooler: should be "Started" and "Automatic"

Also, in Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, look for any yellow or red
items in the System Log that pertain to printing.
