I am on Windows Vista operating system and I have a Lexmark 4200 series all
in one fax printer. I have my connections hooked up right to my knowledge,
but I keep getting a communication error when trying to print documents of
any kind. Please someone help me.

Is this printer compatible with Vista? I've checked Lexmark website and it
doesn't appear it is.

Taken from Lexmark website:

Is your operating system compatible with your All-In-One? The Lexmark 4200
Series supports these operating systems:
Windows 98
Windows Me
Windows 2000
Windows XP

Vista is not listed, so likely it isn't.

Have you looked in Device Manager? Are there any yellow exclamation marks?
Will the printer print a test page.

Disconnect it and uninstall all drivers and go through connection procedure
once more here:

Could you try another driver say this one

http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:438:0:0

its for the next model up but may just work
