Printer Driver Error - Repost - HELP!

Hi and Help!

I just installed a new computer for a non-profit meals on wheels program
here for their bookkeeper. Everything setup just fine and when we swapped
some printers around to get her a fester printer. Turns out since it was
USB, it would not print from DOS from the meals program that they use for
billing (we are upgrading soon, so this will go away). So, I replaced the
two printers and it will no longer print on this computer (I plugged it into
another computer and it prints fine). I have managed to get it to print
when the computer shuts down and restarts.

Here is what I have done:
1. Deleted the printers, rebooted and let Windows reinstall drivers - no
printing
2. Verified cable is working okay as well as printer on another machine
that is exactly the same.
3. Turned off spooling for the printer (print directly to printer), turned
off bi-directional printing - no print.
4. Deleted all %temp% files, Disk Cleanup, uninstall printer, chkdisk /f,
reboot - no print.
5. Removed spool files in system32 folder under 3 and w32x86, downloaded
and installed XP resource toolkit and ran cleanspl.exe. Stopped and
restarted the spooler service - no print.

I am out of options at this point and we need to get the printer working to
print checks, which are more than a week behind. It would be impossible for
her to do manually checks as there are tons of payments for food service,
etc. that have built up.

Any other suggestions to get the printer to work? Installs fine and appears
to be communicating with the computer, but wither the spooler is corrupt or
the drivers. Not sure what to do next unless there is a problem with the
parallel port. I will try another parallel printer to verify, but need to
be prepared with other solutions in case it does print.

Thanks!!!!!

Use the older pc and the older program and the older printer to print
the checks the way that worked in the past.

Old computer is gone. It was replaced about a month ago. Otherwise, I
would do that.
