Print Titles greyed out in print preview

Hi. I can go underneath page setup and use the Print
Titles option (under sheet) fine. When I go into print
preview, then go to setup, it is greyed out all of a
sudden.
Seems to happen with any file, one sheet or multiple.
Using Excel 2K.
Anyone have an explantion of why this is happening?

Print Titles and Print Area cannot be changed while in
Print Preview mode. That's the way Excel works.

No explanation. That's just the way it is.

No work-around that I know of in any version of Excel.

You can now stop thinking about how to change the behaviour.

Thanks to both of you for posting. I thought it was such.
My logic is, when in print preview it is locking settings
to show the preview.
Wanted to confirm or prove myself wrong and find out a
setting could be changed.
Thanks for the info.
