Print stops responding

After installing SP2 onto windows xp pro, we now get
print delays in office SB. If you were to hit file/print,
to print a file, you would have to wait for at least 45
seconds before the print dialog would even come up then
wait another 30 to 40 seconds before the printer would
print. Doesn't matter if it's word or excel. This has
never happened before and even though it's a network
printer, it always has worked fine in the past. If anyone
can help me with this dielmma, that would be fantastic!

does the dialog come up quicker if you enable the File and Print sharing
ports in the Windows Firewall exceptions on the client (yes even if they are
not sharing files). You may need to reboot for this setting to take affect.

Another special "feature" of SP2?

It's the way the spooler sends data from machine to machine. The default
Firewall settings when the machine is not sharing files or printers forces
the spooler to enter a pooling mode rather than real-time mode.
