Print Spooler Service

All printers have disappeared. I recently uninstalled a Lexmark all-in-one
driver that I no longer needed. I did this via the add/remove programs.
Now, I have no printers at all. When I try to install a new printer, I get
the message Operation could not be completed. The print spooler service is
not running.

I tried renaming the spoolsv file, reinstalling it, and rebooting. Nothing.

I tried to delete all the printer drivers via File > Server Properties but I
get the error Server properties cannot be viewed. The print spooler service
is not running.

I'm not sure what to do now. Any suggestions?

Thanks Hal.

I tried this. Nothing happened. The command window very briefly flashed
then disappeared. I tried to add a printer (since none were listed) but I
still got the error that the print spooler was not running. I then rebooted
to no avail.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks Tom.

I tried this too. I can't get the server properties to open. I get the
error Operation could not be completed. The print spooler service is not
running. I know it sounds crazy but its a mess.

Try disconnecting all printers, deleting all printer drivers, rebooting
the system and running 'System File Checker' Possibly removing the
Lexmark's drivers removed or failed to reactivate certain of the Windows
printing system's files. Next, try installing your printer's drivers.
