Print Server problem

hello,

first of all, i'm not sure if this is the right ng to post. i dont know if
this has to do with the print server...

i have a oki c5100 laser printer installed in the 2003 DC server over a
network (ethernet).

everytime someone sends a document to print, any kind of document, the
printer generates an error on the server and stalls until i check ok on the
error. then it prints like nothing happens.

the error says something like this: "an attempt to acquire the information
has failed"... obvious... :\

the event viewer doesn't say a word about this.

i mailed oki but still haven't got a response.

any though?

hi...

yes... i am using the correct driver...

but, out of nowhere, i manage to make things right...

the first time i installed the printer i used the setup program, not the
wizard, and i was stuck with the problem...

then, i used the add printer win2k3 wizard and still got the same error
message...

today when i got to work, i tried to install the printer again with the
wizard and voila... the printer is set to work!!!

go figure...

the curious thing is that i got a error message but that message was not
listed on the event viewer...

thanks anyway!

Are you using a Windows 2003 driver for this printer on the server?
