The location of the option to print "grayscale" or black varies with the
printer driver. All I can suggest is navigating to printer properties and
trying the various tabs, &c. E.g. for some HP DeskJet's, it is on the
General Printing Preferences Paper\Quality tab.

With What printer?

Is it using the driver that came "in the box" with VISTA or did you
install VISTA specific software/drivers from the printer manufacturer.

Have a look in your START / Programs / Printer name or manufacturer (eg
HP photosmart in my case) for a link to a readme file; or look in
Windows Explorer or other file manager for it.

I just found a Readme file for my HP PS8250 printer which gives a
corrected list of where things are located in the printer driver
controls that differ from what the manual may tell you.
