Print Error - Event ID 45 and 61. Only administrators can print.

Hi,

We have recently installed printers onto our Windows Server 2003
machine. They worked fine on the in-place-upgrade machine, however
since moving to the new Windows Server 2003 machine only
administrators can print without error, which is very strange. Leads
me to think that it is a permission issue.

The errors in Event Viewer are:

Event ID 45 Source print:
Document failed to print to a GDI/Driver error in rendering this is
then followed immediately by:

Event ID 61 Source Print:
the document XX owned by XX failed to print on printer XX. Win32
error code returned by the print processor: 3003. A StartDocPrinter
call was not issued.

Printers are HP Laserjet 4050, 4100 and 4200's. The same error
happens with all the printers. I have tried PCL5e and PCL6 drivers.

Any thoughts as I am stuck? an hour of googling came up with nothing
of mcuh use and I have tried everything at:
http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=61&eventno=47&source=Print&phase=1

Thanks folks,

Dan.

Looks like the above is a HP Port monitor problem as I have installed
some Minolta Network printers and they all work fine.

Anyone know where I can find an old version of the HP Install network
Printer Wizard? or any other suggestions?

Turns out it is the HP jet Direct Ports. By printing to a Standard
TCP/IP port (RAW Port 9100) and using the usual HP Printer driver the
problem completely disappeared.
