Print a protected document?

Hi there

when trying to print off a protected document, the markings appear where the
editable content is.
Is there a way to fix this?

Graham you are a genius! Thanks.

Can I trouble you with another quick question?
I'm trying to protect a document but allow staff to add in their own photos
at the specified size. I tried putting a text box in place and making it
"editable" but that doesn't seem to allow me to drop in a pic once it is
protected.
Any advice?

Insert a section break either side of the place where you wish to allow a
picture to be inserted. (unless the section is at the start or end in which
case you need only one section break)
Then tools > protect document > for forms, and from the sections dialog
uncheck the section in question, thus protecting only the other sections.

It doesn't seem to let you edit the picture once you drop it into the
unprotected section? Is there a way you can still re-size and crop?

Protection for forms limits what can be done with the document. Depending on
what you are trying to do it may be possible to unlock the form and perform
the action using vba - see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/SpellcheckProtectDoc.htm for an
example - but if you want to retain usability you will need to rethink
whether a form is the right apoproach. You may be able to achieve what you
want by using other approaches to gathering data such as macrobutton fields
http://www.gmayor.com/Macrobutton.htm or userforms
