Primary/Secondary Followup Question (duplicate post)

(Please excuse this duplicate post. I sent the post below on April 13, but
the microsoft.public.powerpoint newsgroup in my Outlook Express doesn't show
any posts between 4/8 and 4/14, inclusive. So I suspect that if my post of
4/13 was answered then the answer was lost. Here's the duplicate...)

Thanks TAJ for the link.

I followed the link, read what Chirag provides, understand it to some
(!) degree and have a followup question.

We are interested in getting Primary/Secondary monitor support on our
laptop. I spoke with Dell, got a tech who knew what I was trying to
accomplish but who also told me that there is NO
Dell laptop which supports this.

He hinted that some external hardware connected to the USB port, with
suitable software could get around this.

My question: Has anyone in the group done this? What kind of
[external] hardware should I purchase if this is actually possible?

Thanks again for your help.

Tip: You can always use Google Groups Advanced Search to find anything that
has been posted here. Just enter microsoft.public.powerpoint as the
newsgroup. In this case you would enter your name in the author field.

Chirag

Hi Chris,

My experience is contrary to what the Dell tech guy said. I am writing this
newspost from Dell Latitude D800 and it supports the configuration that you
want. This laptop has NVIDIA GeForce4 4200 Go graphic card. No external
hardware is necessary.

In any case, here are a couple of vendors that have PCMCIA graphic cards:
1. VillageTronic VTBook - http://www.villagetronic.com/
2. Margi Display ToGo - http://www.margi.com/
