Personally, I would like to see Microsoft offer the
AntiSpyware product as a free utility, considering that it
is their technologies and the way they chose to implement
them that are allowing all of the spyware to come into our
systems.

It would seem to be to be a good faith effort on the part
of Microsoft to do this, as it would show that they do care
about the issue and aren't trying to make a quick buck or
two off their own misfortunes.

If they choose not to make the utility free, then I'll most
likely stick to using Ad-aware and other freely available
tools.

I too support the NO FEE or COST to the end user for the
anti spyware application, as I see it with all the
security vulnerabilities that the various O/S platforms
are plagued with and the problems it subjects the end user
to it would only make sence for Microsoft to offer this
application to users at no cost to help offset the
inconvienence thier product imposes in the first place,
and so long as alternatives are available for free to do
the same thing I won't pay Microsoft to do what they
should be doing in the first place! Further I have used
Spybot S&D and Adaware for a long time and they equal or
better what Microsoft's application offers at present, if
Microsoft wants my money for this app then they have to
pump up this program alot and give it a serious jolt of
steroids.
Just my 2 1/2 cents worth!

I don't think everyone should be blaming Microsoft for
their surfing and downloading practices. It is not their
fault if we browse to known sites of malicous software or
click yes to the stupid popups. They are trying their
best to protect us and they are getting dished for it. I
wish people would take more responsiblity for their
internet actions and stop blaming Microsoft for
everything they do wrong.

Sorry,, just tired of no one taking responsibility for
their own actions.
