preview pane renders slowly on startup?

Hi,

This has been a bone of contention for years...when
Outlook starts up it loads the preview pane slowly if the
message is in HTML format. I thought that this problem
would go away when I got my new computer with XP and
Office XP.

Granted, it has gotten a lot better. But I still notice
that each time I load Outlook it seems to render the
preview pane a LITTLE bit more slowly. I am concerned
that this "lag time" will get longer and longer as time
goes by, just like on my old computer. Anyone have any
ideas about how to keep this from happening? Is there an
HTML history that needs to be cleaned out?
