I have two PC's with XP Pro SP1 and MovieMaker2. All
unneccesary background applications are closed. Both have
512 MB of RAM. The movie is comprised of MPEG-1 files.
The problem occurs no matter the size of the clip that is
imported.
PC #1
-Athlon XP 2400+
-ASUS A7N8X-E nForce 2 motherboard
-Onboard sound
PC #2
-Dell Inspiron i5150 notebook
-Onboard sound
My desktop PC #1 will play a movie preview once, but if
you try to play it again then it will just sit there and
not play the video. This also happens if you make any
adjustments to the storyboard. If you close MM2 and
reopen the project the video will preview one time again.
I save the entire project to my notebook PC #2, it works
perfectly and I can preview the and edit the project as I
wish without affecting the preview mode.
What can possibly cause the PC #1 to act the way that it
is? Could it have something to do with the AMD nForce
chipset? I know someone else must have had this problem
before, but I didn't see it turn up in my searchs. Any
information greatly appreciated.
