Preview in Browser

FP2003 when I insert any pictures from file (.gif & .jpeg) everything is
perfect. When I insert picture from movie in flash format (.swf) which use to
work before today. I have trouble previewing in the web browser. It shows my
picture with a red X and also has the pop up window that says IE has
restricted this file from showing active content that could access your
computer. All other sites that I view that have flash content view perfectly!
I am puzzled why only in FP preview in browser can I not view my flash image?

Thank you in advance for your help! This service is very useful!

Because you are run it on your desktop. You can change your security setting by clicking to the
restricted file message.

Thank you Thomas but the problem I am having does not appear in any other
flash website that I view. It only occurs when previewing a web page that I
have just inserted a .swf file. I have done this procedure hundreds of times
in FP 2003. I have been using FrontPage for 2 years and consider myself an
intermidiate user. Yhis looks like a new issue to me. Again it only happens
with the .swf files. I have not worked on my website in awhile and I think
that the SP2 may have been put in since.

Your thoughts?

Is this happening after you have uploaded the site to a live/remote server and you view it in IE or
is this happen when using IE, Preview in browser on with your local copy?

If your local copy, it is because you are running it from disk-based web, not a web server.

Thomas you are so smart!! You are correct! I read many of your answers and
they have been very very helpful! This did not happen on my web server only
on my local copy. I have in the past been able to do this on my local copy
though. I hope I'm not going crazy :)

Thanks again,
Regina

Yes, the new security in IE 6.0 (XP SP2) will do that, but only on your
local machine. Publish the page with the SWF file and it will function
correctly.

In other words, publish the page with the shockwave file and it will
function OK!
