Preventing Outlook 2003 from embedding images sent attached

Often when users send email that have attached images, MS Outlook 2003 will
embed those images in the email. The only way I have found to save the image
is by right-clicking and saving as BMP. This downgrades the quality of the
image. I need these images to either not automatically embed, or to know of a
way to save them in their original, sent format. Any ideas?
